The project was developed within the span of only a few builds, primarily to the additional features being mostly cosmetic per nature. It initially offered 3 themes, that of the Windows XP Mese theme, the brand new Windows New Experience theme, and the Windows 7 Aero theme. Per April 2013, one year before the end of support for XP, the CEO of Microsoft greenlit an updated version of Windows XP, which was initially known internally as Windows New Experience. Windows XP 2020 Edition is a modernized revamp of the iconic Windows XP operating system, which has sold over 10 million copies.
